Photographs > "Like, But Not Like, Me"

We found this maze of half-dead trees where Lisa thought I could get interesting images if she and her sisters just walked around through them. Please note that Hazel suffered brain damage from a severe fall when she was around two years old. We always treat her as if she were completely normal, and in fact, I have tender, loving feelings for Hazel to this very day. I've taken many photographs of her. She was one of my favorite subjects when I lived in the Berkshires.

I came to feel that these particular images have an uncanniness to them that is inherent in the site where they were taken. Also note that no one was really lost.
