A Visit to Forest Home Cemetery
This project was created for my typography class. I kind of went over the top with it, using many more head levels than I may have needed to, but we were told to use main heads, subheads, sidebars, pull quotes, a numbered list or bulleted list, and art. I had made a personal visit to the cemetery the first spring I was in Chicago to place a stone on Emma Goldman's grave and see the monument to the Haymarket Martyrs, so making this book gave me an opportunity to use the photographs I'd taken commemorating my visit. In addition, I downloaded images from the PBS documentary on Emma, which I had watched with fascinated interest, to put together a special sidebar about her. The text was adapted from the entry on graveyards.com about Forest Home Cemetery. Credit for text and images appears on the copyright page and with each accompanying photograph or other piece of art.
